5 Ways ANYONE Can Make Money from Home

With fewer and fewer jobs available, it only makes sense to work from home. Not only does it give you the freedom you need to raise your family, but you may find that the salary can be better than what’s available in your area. Whether you put your crafting skills to use or answer questions, there are so many great ways to earn money from home.

1. Put Your Crafting Skills to Use

Do you love to craft? Then why not put the items you’ve made up for sale on Etsy? The key to selling crafts is to make sure you have several products available before opening your shop. This allows you to sell so many more items. Once you find out which items sell the best, you can focus more on those. Another great tip is to offer custom orders that allow customers to choose a specific color, design, etc.

2. Answer Questions

There are sites that you can get paid for answering questions. If you have a passion or degree in a certain category, you can set a fixed price for answering questions. For example, if you breed bearded dragons, you might answer questions people have about the reptile. Another example is if you have a degree in business and answer questions about marketing. The possibilities are endless.

There are also lots of survey sites that will pay relatively well, especially when you do them regularly.

3. Do Small Tasks

Fiverr is an awesome place for putting your skills to use. The basic gig will pay you $5, but you can add extras and make a lot more per gig. Examples for what you do may be SEO research for bloggers, writing a haiku for couples, doing voice-over work, etc. Again, the possibilities are truly endless.

4. Graphic Design

Do you have a creative flare? Then put it to use. You can create memes for website owners, teasers for authors, or even full websites. A great place to get started making graphics is Canva.com. The site is free to use and gives you so many great options. You will need to pay for any stock photography you use, but the price is only $1 per photo.

5. Start Writing

Last, but not least, there are so many jobs you get online if you love to write. You can write content for bloggers, sell articles through companies like BlogMutt, transcribe audio into text, do data entry, and so much more. You could even write your own books to sell on Amazon.

How to Make Money Writing: 5 Easy Ways to Work from Home

You just finished a big project with a magazine or newspaper and want something to do until the next project comes along. Or maybe you’re looking for a way to make money while you’re at home. The good news is there are a number of easy ways for writers to make money from home. Whether you perform small tasks through companies like Fiverr or do data entry, I’ll share with you how to make money writing so you can work in your spare time or even turn it into a full-time career.

1. Perform Small Tasks

Companies like Fiverr allow everyone to perform small tasks for five-dollars. However, the more your reputation builds, the more money you can make. For example, you might charge five-dollars to write a 100 word description. You can then add extras to the gig to increase the amount earned. You might, for example, write an additional 400 words $10 or add a 500 word article for an additional fifty-dollars.

2. Blog

Blogging is a great way to make money from home because you can do so much with it. Not only can you earn money through Google Adsense, but there are a number of affiliate programs you can use as well. Amazon.com happens to be one of my favorites. Companies will even pay you to blog about their products once you have a good following. Also, as your following grows, you can sell ad space for additional income. Setting up a blog is easy and one place I would recommend starting is at Mommy Host. Not only can you set up a very affordable hosting plan on WordPress.org, you can also purchase your domain name through MommyHost as well.

3. Do Data Entry

You already have a great typing speed, why not put it to use? There are a number of companies that hire data entry workers to work from home. One company you can start with is Lionbridge. You will need to complete a test to apply, but the tests are fairly simple.

4. Write Articles

It may sound obvious, but writing articles can be a great way for writers to earn money from home. You can apply through job boards, sell your content through groups on Facebook, write for companies, etc. There are so many options for how to make money writing articles and there is a great need for this skill set.

5. Manage Social Media Accounts

Last, but not least, as a writer, you’ve done your fair share of research. Put that skill to use by becoming a social media account manager or virtual assistant. Many business professionals need someone to do this for them. The job is fairly simple, you keep the accounts updated with relevant information for the target audience of that business. For example, let’s say you’re working for a romance author. You would post information about books, upcoming romantic movie releases, articles that women would find interesting, etc. It’s an easy job that can be really fun.

There’s no need to worry how to make money writing any longer. There are so many great ways to make money from home. You just have to branch out and be creative. Whether you find a data entry job online or sell your content to bloggers through Facebook, you can make great money working from home as a writer.

How to Publish an eBook

Seems like everyone is on the ebook bandwagon, right? If you’d like to get your piece of the pie, it’s time to get started. Whether you want to publish on Amazon or hit all the big retailers, you can do it. In fact, it’s possible to get your eBook published on Amazon within 48 hours of submitting it! If you’re ready to get started selling your book, the following is everything you need to do to publish an ebook.

1. Choose Your Topic

Thanks to companies like Amazon, everyone can get their ideas published. First things first though. You need to choose a topic. There’s so much that can be done with ebooks. Whether you want to write a novel or a how-to book, you can do it. The important thing is to focus on one topic at a time so that you actually get a book done.

2. Set a Word Count Goal

One of the best tips you can get for publishing an ebook is to set a daily word count goal. This ensures that you’re getting those words on the screen each and every day. You can start out small and then work your way up. If you’re writing a novel, you want to shoot for a book that is 60,000 words. If you want to get your book completely written in one month, that’s only 2,000 words per day. Authors that publish a book every two months make the most money on Amazon. When you write 2,000 words per day that gives you a month for editing and formatting.

3. Get your eBook Edited

It doesn’t matter how many times you reread the book, you will still miss errors. There are a number of editors out there, but you may have a friend that can help you with the first book. This allows you to save money, but also helps you catch all the typos you missed. Just make that book the best it can be before you publish it.

4. Hire Someone to Format the Book or Learn the Skill

Formatting a book for all the different companies you want to publish with can be time-consuming and hard. The good news is there are a number of professionals that handle this part of the process. If you want to save money, you can learn this skill. Just make sure you stay updated on changes that are made from time to time.

5. Get Professional Cover Art

Unless you’re a graphic artist, you want to hire someone to make your cover art. Choose a graphic artist who focuses on cover art. You can convey your ideas and the story line and work with her one-on-one to create a cover you can be proud of. Take the time to look online for reviews and recommendations.

6. Submit

Once your book is completed, you need to follow the directions on each company’s website for submission. Some companies publish books faster than others. For example, some Amazon books go up the same day that they’re submitted. Just be patient because it’s worth the wait.
