If you follow me on instagram, you’ll know that I post a lot about my daily life. A few weeks ago I was given the opportunity to participate in my own Advocare 24 Day Challenge. This past week I’ve been sharing a bit about the challenge through instagram posts and A LOT to anyone who knows me in real life!
I’ve been sharing so much because I’m totally in love with this program! Wait – let me back up a bit. When Donna, an Advocare Distributor from RockYour24.com, offered me the opportunity to partake in the challenge with daily coaching from her, I was totally overwhelmed. On one hand, I really wanted to try it because I have been totally unhappy with my body and life [always tired, no energy, no drive/determination], but then again I was terrified to commit to 24 days of coaching from someone I really didn’t know.
But obviously I jumped in and now on Day 8 have totally changed my outlook on the program. Even when I agreed, I was still super skeptical. I’m a cynic and really don’t believe in any “hype”. I know the key to being healthy and it’s simple – diet and exercise. We all know that.
But what happens when you have absolutely no energy? No drive to exercise.
What happens when you aren’t held accountable and you make those bad food choices?
That’s where I was and I was in serious need of help. Not seriously obese, not seriously lazy – but enough that I was down in the dumps and my girls were noticing and hubby was definitely noticing.
So that’s where I was when I started Day 1 of the Advocare 24 Day Challenge. In addition to the challenge, I’ve also become active on My Fitness Pal [are you? Add me!]. It’s helped me learn to make healthy food choices and really keep track of what’s going in my body.
So, I know the real question for this post is “How’s it going? What’s the process like? What are you liking and not liking?”
I’m currently on Day 8, just about to finish the Cleanse Phase. It’s supposed to be the hardest part of the challenge, but honestly, it feels like a breeze to me.
ADVOCARE IS NOT A DIET PLAN. You STILL EAT.
That was important to me – it’s simply a jumpstart to a healthier you. Seeing my journey on paper [as in the journal above] made everything so much easier on me. I have been eating healthier meals [lower caloric thanks to MFP!], taking supplements within the program and totally revolutionizing my energy levels with the miracle product – Spark!
Take a look around the web – you’ll find so many Moms and others singing the praises of this Vitamin Energy Drink! I’ve never felt so alert, so focused, and so ME. Amazing, I tell you.
You may be wondering about the *ahem* cleansing aspect of this phase. Well, it does just that – but not in a “OMG! Where’s the bathroom NOW?!?” It’s more of a getting things back on track type of cleanse. And I’ll be honest – the Fiber Drink is, well, disgusting. I have to chug it and not even think about it, but the results are totally worth it. Totally.
So, how do I really feel about my 24 Day Challenge? It’s amazing. I haven’t felt this good since being a Mom of Two [which is probably why I’m rambling and want to tell EVERYONE about my experience!]. These girls, no matter how adorable, suck my energy every.single.day and add in that I’m working from home – well, it’s exhausting.
