Although my girls are 4 and 2, I still find myself always walking by the baby aisles in stores, reading reviews and announcements of new baby products – I don’t know, is it a Mom thing or a Mom Blogger thing? No matter why – I’m drawn to new baby products so when Graco asked if I would like to review one of their 3 new strollers on the market, at no cost to me, I agreed in a heartbeat.
Now, my husband thought we needed another stroller like we needed another baby… um, we don’t. And truly we didn’t need the stroller, but when you have the chance to try out an ultralight stroller that boasts a 1 Second, 1 Hand Fold, you say yes.
The Aire3 is sold on the Graco Baby website as a travel system, but since we don’t have a newborn [and don’t plan on having one any time soon], I received only the stroller.
It was ridiculously easy to assemble – 5 minutes tops as the only parts to put together were the wheels, the lap bar and the parent tray.
Before my daughter even tried out the Graco Aire3, there were areas that I already knew were going to be my favorite features. Those shiny, swivel-y wheels, oh yes! The front wheel has the option of locking, but do yourself a favor and let it swivel. This lightweight stroller can be turned with your pinky finger, it’s so easy to maneuver. While we’re still here, check out that storage basket!
I’m an over packer, no doubt. Even though the girls are both potty trained, there are still plenty of reasons we might need 3 changes of clothes, snacks for days [in case we get stranded on a walk!?], and wipes – oh the wipes. They’ll all fit in this spacious basket! And the foot at the bottom right? That’s to show you that there’s one brake that controls both back wheels.
Although you want your stroller to be one that your kid will love and comfort for them, as a parent, you’ll be using it just as much. The Graco Aire3 doesn’t disappoint when it comes to parents. In addition to the large storage basket, light weight of only 21 pounds, it features a fabulous parent tray with 2 cup holders and a zippered pocket area in the middle that’s big enough to hold an iPhone and your keys and a lip gloss or two! I love the height of the handlebar too. It’s not adjustable, but I find it’s in the perfect spot for me at 5’3″ and my husband at 5’11”.
Now let’s get to comfort for the kiddos – doesn’t she look quite comfy in that first picture?! The child’s cupholder is actually a fabric cupholder that is attached to the lap bar. The 5 point harness can easily convert to a convertible 3 point when your child is older and everything is padded so there’s ultimate comfort with all areas of the straps.
Take a look at this canopy! It’s quite large anyways, but then has a zippered panel that actually makes it even larger. It also features a great, mesh, peek-a-boo window to keep those kiddos in check at all times!
Now, as I said, we’ll be using the Graco Aire3 for older toddlers and that’s perfect because it’s made for children up to 50 pounds so I’ve still have plenty of time to use it. But what about for itty bitty babes? If you purchase the travel system, you’re good to go for infants up to 35 pounds. But the Aire3 also features a fully reclining seat, which adjusts with a strap and knob at the back of the stroller.
It looks a little odd at the angle I’m showing, but the seat lays almost completely flat – which makes this stroller fabulous for sleeping babies and smaller infants, even when you’re not using the Infant Car Seat on top.
I think you can probably tell that I’m kinda in love with the new Graco Aire3, right? Well, I am and this is the main reason why… All those other fab features, yeah, they’re fab, but this one, oh this one…
the 1 Second, 1 Hand Fold
The fine folks at Graco are not exaggerating. There is a red strap located in the bottom of the seat, nicely tucked away from prying fingers. You simply pull up on that strap and your stroller folds itself. Once it’s in tight enough, the small latch on the side [you can see that in the picture above on the left] catches and the stroller will stand on it’s own. The Pull Strap? It doubles as a carrying strap, which makes this 21 pound stroller my new go-to stroller for ALL occasions, my friends!
The Graco Aire3 Click Connect Travel System comes in 3 different colors and retails on http://gracobaby.com for $349.99 [which includes the Infant Car Seat]. You can connect with Graco on their social media channels through Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.
