My kids are certainly not lacking on screen time and you know what? I am proud of that fact. But hear me out – while so many parents may be against screen time, I’m not at all. Now, I don’t let them sit in front of the television for 6 hours straight, but if they want to pick up an iPad and play for a bit, they’re allowed to.
You see, we have the iPad loaded with tons of educational apps and shows and today I’m sharing with you the newest apps that we just downloaded from Mobile Montessori.
My girls are 2 and almost 4, so we have only had the chance to try out their apps that are younger child friendly, but they have fantastic apps for older children as well, in other languages too – like Japanese, Spanish, Italian, and more.
My girls and I have had the chance to view and interact with 9 different Mobile Montessori apps, but their favorite [which I knew would be the case] is the Dinosaurs app. They’re both Dino Fanatics right now and my oldest daughter loves being able to learn even more about her favorites!
Although most of the apps are still a little above my youngest daughter , she enjoys scanning them, as well.
However, my oldest daughter has totally flourished with them. Even though the Dinosaurs app has been proclaimed as her favorite, she’s enjoyed them all – and learned so much in such a short time. She can now tell me different body parts of animals [seriously, things I didn’t even know like dorsal and pectoral fins on a fish!] with the Animal Parts app, she’s worked on counting and recognizing higher numbers with the 100 Board, and the Movable Alphabet has encouraged her spelling!
I am totally aware that there are a ton of apps available to purchase and that, in itself, can be super overwhelming. It can also really add up purchasing apps. Because of the sheer volume, it’s easy to spend a small fortune and not be sure what you’re really getting… but really believe that the Mobile Montessori apps are certainly a worthy investment in your child’s learning and education. I can definitely see these being a fantastic asset for parents who homeschool, but I just love the opportunity to give my children supplemental educational apps for when they’re at home. She loves to learn – and these apps are just another learning tool for her!
Be sure to click around the Mobile Montessori website to see the vast amount of montessori apps they have available – you can browse by theme [Geography, Science, Math, etc] and Language. The apps work with all Apple products, but are best viewing on the iPads, in most circumstances. Apps are available for download in iTunes and range from $2.99 – $3.99 each.
